One more post

I thought I'd do one more entry for the month of April! :)  I've actually amazed myself that I remembered to keep updating my blog this month...I've never done this many postings in one month before..hehe!

This morning the kids and I took Joshua to Strafford where we dropped him off to ride his bike the rest of the way into work!  Its the first time he's ridden his bike that far in over a year!  He loved it!  He loves sports a lot.  He's started training for a triathlon this summer....I can't wait to watch him!  I'm not sure why but I like watching my man run in races :)  I guess its a good thing because he likes doing them.  Anyway, so we have to go into town tonight to pick him up from work.  So I've been making up stuff for dinner to put in the fridge, that way I can just reheat it when we get back and we don't have to wait for an hour!

It has been really annoying this week trying to keep my kitchen even remotely clean.  With all the rain we've had, the kitchen drain is backed up from all the ground water.  Argh!  I finally washed out the bathtub yesterday and washed a load of dishes in there so that we'd at least have some clean dishes.  Talk about making your back sore!  Eilis thought the soap suds were hair mousse, so her "help" was rather dampening...LOL!  But at least I got some of my dishes clean! :P

The children are both sleeping soundly right now and the house is very quiet...except for the dogs growling and playing on the front porch.  I've been working on wedding pictures this morning.  I can't wait to have them all done and scrapbooked!  Joshua and I have been married two years and almost four months and there are TWO wedding pictures on the wall!  I really need to get some printed off!

Joshua and I ordered a couple books off of Amazon last weekend and I can't wait for them to get here!  I love tracking numbers so you can watch where your order is at and when it will arrive.

Well, I'm going to go start working on the grocery list.  Friday is pay day and I really need to go grocery shopping!

Oh, I almost forgot to put down something I'm thankful for today!  I thank God for giving me eternal life!  What a truly awesome God we serve!

I woke up with this song on my heart this morning and just thought I'd share it.

"I know, I know that Jesus liveth,
And on the earth again shall stand.
I know, I know that life He giveth,
That grace and power are in His hand."

Picture post :)

I thought I'd just do a photo entry today since I can't really think of anything to write about! :)  So here are some pictures from the last couple weeks of our lives!

Eilis loves playing football!

Neddie sleeping during church service <3

Eilis was trying to change her baby doll's diaper but it kinda went in the wrong place! LOL

Watching a movie and eating snack! (notice the bed hair :)

Waking Daddy up from his nap...she was telling me to be quiet!

Little fat man chewing away!  No teeth yet but I'm expecting some pretty soon!

All pooped out from playing.  Isn't he adorable?

After he rolled over this morning..his face is too cute!

Matching babies!!! They're both so cute and fat <3

Eilis and I continue to work on the potty training thing!  She's starting to figure it out and actually tell me when she needs to go..the only problem is she usually tells me as she starts going :) I know she'll figure it out, I can't wait!!!!!  Today I am thankful for baby wipes..LOL..they make cleaning up messes so much easier and faster!

Growing up

My babies are growing up so fast its hard to keep up sometimes!  Eilis loves to put on Daddy's shoes after he gets home from work!  And she is completely in love with her little brother too!

Eilis is potty training, talking, undressing and dressing her baby doll, helping me clean house, and doing lots of little girly things.  Joshua bought her a little purse a couple months ago and she loves filling it up with toys and putting it on her shoulder to go byebye.  It's so cute!  We threw out her pacifiers last Saturday afternoon after she lost one while we were away from home and I didn't have a back up.  We'd been trying to decide when to bite the bullet and get rid of them because they were just becoming a nuisance, so we took the opportunity and she's doing great!  She goes to sleep just fine without one and has quit asking for it! :)
Edward rolled over for the first time this afternoon and I totally missed it! :( I put him on the floor on his tummy while I was potty training Eilis, turned around to get him a toy and when I turned back around he was laying on his back staring up at me with this look of shock on his face! LOL...it was really cute!  I tried to get him to do it again so I could get a video of it but I guess once was enough to wear him out, because he wanted to go to sleep after that.  He's started overflowing all of his diapers too now so I guess its time to upgrade him to size 4 diapers!  Both of my children will be wearing the same size diaper now. :)
I feel like Edward is growing up so much faster than Eilis did.  I guess it's just because my life is that much more busy now than it was a year and a half ago.  I've had to start setting aside specific times where I just sit on the floor and play with the kids.  I never seemed to have a shortage of that kind of time when Eilis was four months old but now I have to schedule it and do it in place of something else that needs done or I don't get to do it.  I love playing with my babies and I pray that God will always allow me plenty of time to enjoy with them!
Today I am grateful for every moment I get to spend with my children, even the training ones!

The proverb for today has a verse in it that I have learned to look at in a new light since becoming a wife and mother.  "Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox." ~Proverbs 14:4   It is much easier to keep a clean house when there is just you to clean up after; and sometimes it gets frustrating when it seems like you just got done doing a major clean up when you find that there is already another one to do too.  But I've learned to find joy in that because this mess is a constant reminder of the beautiful blessings that God has given to me.  ~Tyana

Yesterday...

was a wonderful day!  Joshua worked long days all week so that he just did a couple hours work from home yesterday, it was so nice to have a day off on Friday...and we still have today too!  It was a fun, relaxing, "go where the wind takes us" kind of day.  Joshua and I watched some shows off Netflix in the morning while the babies took their nap.  Then we needed to go to the store so we got the kids packed up and headed to town.  Went to Walmart first, and got a lot more than we went for :) then went driving around to see if there were any garage sales.  I didn't think there would be any at 3 in the afternoon on a Friday, but it was a good excuse to drive with the windows down and enjoy the beautiful weather!  Joshua started down this weird back road that he said was a shortcut to our destination, but he wouldn't tell me what our destination was!  We drove for about 10 minutes and ended up at Hannah's gas station in Niangua!  It was THE stop whenever Joshua's family would go to Niangua.  Eilis picked out some icecream bars and we ate them in the car with the windows rolled down.  I love these kinds of trips!  We headed back to Marshfield and stopped at the discount grocer and picked up a few things.  Then Joshua took me to the greenhouse and bought me a beautiful rose bush.  I don't have a pot for it yet, I'm getting one today, and then I'll post some pictures.
I thought we were done with our excursion now but then Joshua pulled into the tennis courts!  It was a perfect day for tennis :)  Edward sat in the stroller playing with toys and Eilis ran around getting the tennis balls!  She loved it every time one of us missed the ball and sent her after it!  We packed up and headed home and then Joshua decided to take us out to eat for dinner.  So we stopped and ate dinner!  And then we finally came home!!!
It was such a fun family day! The weather was beautiful, we were all together, and we didn't have a plan, just doing whatever sounded good!
Today, there is a schedule.  Joshua is at a church business meeting right now.  I'm getting stuff packed up and the kids ready for the day.  We're leaving around 10:30 to head to Papa and Grammie Burks' house so Joshua can help them with some stuff and then we have the Pregnancy Care Center banquet tonight.
I've decided to think of something specific that I am thankful for each day.  Today I'm thankful for the handsome man that God gave me for my husband!  I hope that you all find something to thank God for today.

My Baby Boy

I've fallen in love again!  Every morning I'm amazed at the wonderful creations God has made.  I stand in awe at the richness of His blessings to me.  I have an amazing husband, the love of my life, and two gorgeous, healthy children that are my pride and joy!
This morning I've just been taking it easy as I had a fever and upset stomach yesterday.  So I gave my little man a bath and dressed him up all cute and took some pictures of him!  He's so cute it hurts!

These are just a couple of the pictures.  Here is the link to see all of them:

So I am going to delight in this day that Lord has given me to care for and enjoy my children!  I pray that you all may find a special blessing to praise Jesus for today.

A Beautiful Start...

to the new week! I love Easter Sunday! It doesn't have as much hype as Christmas, but I think I like it just as much, if not more! :) Its so much more relaxing than Christmas, cuz everybody just hangs out and has fun.  Christmas always has the rush of opening presents and trying to see what you got.  At Christmastime, we celebrate Jesus Christ's birth and coming to save the lost.  On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the glorious event of His Resurrection that gave us our salvation!  What better holiday could there be?  My husband, Joshua, did a short lesson for family school on Easter, and talked about "What if Christ had not Risen?"  I had never thought about what life would be like if Christ had died but not risen again.  I just always thought the two went hand in hand.  If Christ had just died, then there would be no eternal life..only death.  How sad that would be.  Christ, by His Resurrection, gave us a heavenly gift that can not be matched on earth!  There is nothing more precious to a believer than the thought of life everlasting with His Lord and Savior.  I pray that each one of you reading this has accepted that wonderful gift and will experience life forever with Jesus Christ in heaven.

I think my favorite thing about this Easter was watching Joshua's little brother, Benjamin, get baptized.  It was so special to see a little six year old boy want to be baptized because it was "a picture of Jesus' death and that he rised again!" (That was his reply to Dad Burks asking him what baptism was.)

I hope that all of you had a beautiful Resurrection Sunday as well!  ~Tyana

"Look ye saints! The sight is glorious: See the Man of Sorrows now;
From the fight returned victorious, Ev'ry knee to Him shall bow:
Crown Him! Crown Him! Crowns become the Victor's brow."

Once again..

I have forgotten about my blog and not done any updates for a while! :P Seems to be a habit with me. :)
I won't go into detail about our Arizona trip as most everyone reading this has already seen pictures and heard about it from Facebook.  But we had a great time, and it was so nice to see all of my family again!
It's been a challenge to get settled back into the routine of things after a two week vacation, but we're getting there! Springtime is so nice...I love to open the windows up and let the fresh air come in and make the house smell clean again after being shut up all winter! Praise the Lord for different seasons to enjoy.  We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather this last Wednesday and went to the park for a picnic dinner before church. It was so nice! Eilis played in the water and ran around in the grass, Neddie slept away in his carseat, and Joshua and I just enjoyed some nice quiet family time without any distractions.

He was peeking!

The new thing this past week has been potty training Eilis.  She's doing pretty good..doesn't really get it yet..but I'm hoping that within another couple weeks it'll click with her. :)  She is growing up so fast, it seems like it wasn't very long ago she was learning to roll over and sit up!

This was right after a bath! She is so cute!

I'm really looking forward to Easter Sunday.  All of the Burks families are coming over to our house for dinner and enjoying the outdoors!  I'll be sure and put up some pictures!
I think that's about it for now.  I keep looking out the window and every time I look it has gotten a little bit darker outside than it was :( Oh well, I guess rain is one of the things that goes with springtime.  Thank you Lord for rain.

God Bless ~Tyana
